The Hobbit 21km Half Marathon was a new addition to the Hobbit weekend in 2024.
Starting and finishing through natural forest, the middle section lets you stretch out on the plantation jeep tracks while still enjoying the views from the escarpment. Just be sure to save a bit for the final push up Tor Doore to 1585m.
Good to Know
Two Watertables, at roughly 5.5km and 13.5km, stocked with 32Gi electrolyte drinks, ButtaNutt products, fresh, seasonal fruit and biscuits
Route is well marked

Heading up with a sharp climb behind Hobbiton, this route then has a relatively gentle 11km of jeep track through plantation before taking you up the lung testing Tor Doore and steeply down the other side through wonderful natural forest.
